Hollande's government admits knowledge of Sarkozy phone tapping

Politics is a very dirty business... French Prime Minister, Jean-Marc Ayrault, has confirmed that both he and Christiane Taubira, French Minister of Justice, had been made aware of the Sarkozy phone tapping since February 26.

Hollande has been accused of attempting to discredit the right wing ahead of local elections which will hold on March 23 and 30.

Investigators launched phone tappings last year on Sarkozy, his wife and his lawyer after allegations that late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi funded Sarkozy's 2007 election campaign. Source
