Meet Claude Makélélé, former French Footballer

Claude Makélélé Sinda is a French former international football player who retired in 2011.

He was born in Kinshasa in DR Congo on 18 February 1973. He moved to France at the age of four with his family. Hiss father, André-Joseph Makélelé, was also a footballer who played for Congo DR  and ended his career in the Belgian First Division.

Makélélé's began his career at the age of 15. He played for Paris Saint-Germain, Nantes, Olympique de Marseille, Celta Vigo, Real Madrid and Chelsea. He was head coach of Bastia from 24 May 2014 to 3 November 2014 when he was sacked after his team lost , 1–0, to Guingamp on 1 November 2014.

According to Wikipedia,
Makélélé won league titles in France, Spain and England. He was a French international for 13 years, and part of the team which reached the final of the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He has been credited with redefining the defensive midfield role in English football, especially during the 2004–05 FA Premier League season when Chelsea won the title with 95 points. In homage to Makélélé, many fans and pundits alike have dubbed the defensive midfield position as the "Makélélé Role".
Here is a video interview of Makélélé and two other members of his team before France met Brazil at the quarter-finals of the 2006 FIFA World Cup.

While the Thierry Henry and Zinédine Zidane talked about their fear admiration for the Brazillian team, Claude Makélélé said : "Brésil ou pas, j'men bats les couilles, Ronaldinho  machin chouette, rien à foutre !"

France beat Brazil 1-0. Thierry Henry scored the goal that sent the defending world champions out of the World Cup and moved France into the semi-finals. Italy won the World Cup by defeating France 5–3 in a penalty shootout after extra time had finished in a 1–1 draw.
