François Hollande faced the media for first time since affair allegations

François Hollande faced over 600 journalists at the presidential palace today for a news conference which
was a long-planned event aimed at unveiling policies to help France's struggling economy. n a speech lasting more than half an hour he addressed the main areas where business wants to see reform.

For the French, Hollande was speaking at his first news conference since the allegations in the magazine Closer last week and the whole world was watching to see how Hollande would answer questions concerning  his alleged affairs with actress Julie Gayet.

But Hollande ducked the question saying "private matters should be dealt with privately". He said it was "neither the time nor the place" to answer questions about his personal life. He also said he would clarify whether Valerie Trierweiler was still first lady before a February trip to the US. Hollande plans to travel to Washington on 11 February.

Also asked about the state of his partner's health, the Head of State said she was resting and that he had no further comment to make on the subject.

Hollande's mistress, Valerie Trierweiler, has been admitted into hospital a day after Closer magazine published images of the alleged affair. They say it's due to depression, but I think it's due to shame and a way to escape from the media and their questions!

I hope she has learnt her lesson that men don't change. If Hollande can cheat on Segolene Royal, the mother of his four children, then she should know that it's a matter of time before he cheats on her. Even almighty Brad Pitt cheated on Angelina Jolie and we all do remember how he ended his marriage with Jennifer Aniston after filming "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" with Angelina.
