It's official, Stromae is a genius and a legend !

Belgian artist has released the video for his single Carmen, which is from his second studio album "Racine carrée" released in 2013.

Inspired by one of the most famous arias from Georges Bizet's 1875 opera classic "Carmen" where he says "l'amour est un oiseau rebelle"  (Love is a rebellious bird), Stromae compared love to a cute rebellious bird.

The animated video was directed by popular French animator Sylvain Chomet of Triplets of Belleville and The Illusionist fame. It was also written by Sylvain Chomet and French rapper Orelsan.Stromae criticises the social media and denounces our obsession.

The video tells a story about a cute little blue bird that looks like Twitter's logo. Tle bird quickly takes over Paul's life and then becomes a huge angry rebellious bird.

See some screen grabs from the video and find the video down below :

L'amour est comme l'oiseau de Twitter
Love is like the bird of Twitter
Paul meets the sweet little blue bird. He joins Twitter

He gets a hang of it, how it works and then the addiction starts.

You're a novice at it only for 48 hours
Then Twitter madness begins innocently with selfies and quest for followers.

First we sign up, then we follow each other
We become addicted and we end up alone
The Twitter bird demands always attention.
He is obssessed with Twitter.

Prends garde à toi
Paul is always on his telephone
The angry Twitter bird keeps demanding more and more attention.

Ah, friends, buddies, or followers
You are mistaken, you are just popular
Paul doesn't have time for anybody, he's obsessed
The once sweet bird scares people away from him
Paul is weighed down by the bird which becomes bigger and bigger every day. His follower increases yet he is lonely.
He eats alone at the restaurant
He celebrates his birthday alone
He goes to the cinema alone, and he doesn't even watch the film because he is busy on Twitter.
He is alone at the park, and still on his phone.
He does meets a girl at the park but the relationship won't work because Paul doesn't know how to relate outside Social Media.
Huge blue birds lead Stromae and his fellow Twitter addicts such as Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, Kanye West & Kim Kardashian, Barrack Obama, and Queen Elizabeth II.
Queen Elizabeth II riding on the back of one of the huge Twitter birds

One day you'll see, we'll love one another
But before that we'll all die, like rats
A deadly fall into the mouth of a much bigger blue bird who eats them and shits them out.
Watch this fantastic video for Carmen by Belgian artist Stromae.
It's ironic that this video premiered via US BuzzFeed & Facebook and it is actually making a buzz on the Internet since its release Tuesday. It's also genius because the only way the addicts he is talking to can see the video and learn from it is by putting it on the Social Media. Thing is the youth of today do not like "donneur de leçon" people who like to give lessons.

Watch Opera Carmen : L'amour est un oiseau rebelle by Elīna Garanča
Watch Stromae perform Carmen on stage during the "Victoires de la Musique 2015"
What do you think about the song, the animated video and the beat ? For me Stromae is has proved himself to be a real genius and a legend. But how can one person be this good... :) ?
